MAY RUN - 13.5.2017
The running event will begin in front of the Sports Centre Ajdovščina. Registration starts at 8:00 am. We recommend that you pre-register via online form.
The race starts with children’s categories at 9:00 am. They will compete in 18 age categories at distances from 300m 2000m.
We will continue the program with senior categories. The 11 km race starts at 11:00.
The running trail starts in front of the Sports Centre Ajdovščina. The macadam road takes you past the horse ranch to the village Lokavec. It continues through the narrow streets of the village and then returns to the main road. You have to run towards the Alba inn and then turn right. The road starts to ascend here. When you arrive to the source of river Hubelj, you cross the bridge and take a forest path that takes you to the hamlet Grivče. You descent to the town, past the ancient roman ruins, cross the main square and return to the Sports Centre where you finish your run.
After the competition, before the announcement of the results, all runners can refresh in the indoor swimming pool of Sports Centre Ajdovščina. Don’t forget to bring a swimsuit with you! For children more than 4 years old, the child care will be organized!
Entry fee: € 2 children, adults € 10 (up to 7.4.), € 12 (up to 12.5.), € 15 on the day of the event
All the competitors of the »May run« are kindly invited to visit the Vipava Valley one the day before the event, accomodate and prepare for a run! We offer accommodation in Autocamp Adovščina, which is located on-site of the event.

Autocamp Ajdovščina (highway H4 exit) lies in a peaceful location in the shade of pine forest, only a ten-minute walk from the center of Ajdovščina. You can choose from 50 spacious camping sites. Apart from traditional camping in tents, caravans and campers, the campground also offers a new apartment for four persons. It offers tidy and functional toilets, showers, laundry and other facilities. It also provides water supply and wastewater disposal to campers and caravans.
The campground is especially attractive for families and fans of nature, sports and recreation. A wide selection of sport facilities and organized activities for children (swimming courses, soccer camp, dance camp, ...) during the summer months ensures you that you won't get bored here. Next to the campground is the Outdoor Summer Pool, which offers relaxation and cooling off on hot summer days. There is also a Children's Park located within the area of the Outdoor Summer Pool. The campground also offers bicycle rentals, table tennis, volleyball and a bar. In the direct vicinity there are: an artificial grass football pitch, multi-purpose sportsground, 2 sports hall, fitness room and a climbing wall.
There are countless possibilities for sports and recreation, notably hiking, trekking, mountaineering, cycling, rock climbing, horseback riding, fishing. There is a tennis court and a MTB downhill (4X) race track nearby. It is possible to fly over the Vipava Valley in light aircraft, paragliding and hang-gliding.
Ajdovščina
Ajdovščina is economic and cultural centre of the Vipava Valley. The Valley lies the west of Slovenia, 25 km from the Slovene-Italian national border. It takes less than an hour drive on the highway to reach Ajdovščina from capital of Slovenia.

Swimming, outstanding experiences, learning about different sports are appropriate activities for useful spending time during the summer holidays.
Nearby Sports facilities
The proximity of sports facilities and the natural environment is a great advantage of the campsite as a destination for active holidays. The camp is located next to the Sports Centre Ajdovščina, which is from the city center only a kilometer away. If you belong to groups or individuals that desire spend active holiday, camp Ajdovščina definitely the right destination.
Food and wine routes
The Vipava Valley is known for its exquisite cuisineand colorful offer of white and red wine. The Vipava wine route is marked with special signs is inviting you during the whole year. On the route you can stop on varius restaurants, tourist farms, wine cellars where they can offer you genuine wine and home produced and cooked food. Among the people of the Vipava Valley who work hardly trough whole year you will find the warmth of the original country home.
